Skyscraper has finally been released! This song is absolutely incredible and we are so proud of Demi! Everyone go buy it! It’s already on #4 for the iTunes Pop Chart! Let’s make it number one. Let’s show Demi all the love and support we have for her! (:
EDIT; It’s now number 2!
Demi’s new single, Skyscraper, premiers tomorrow and a brand new teaser has just been released. You can’t hear much of it but it sounds absolutely amazing from what I can hear. The song will be released on iTunes tomorrow, June 12th and the music video will premiere on Wednesday June 13th on E! News at 7:00pm eastern and again at 11:30pm eastern.
With an incredible voice and two great albums under her belt, Demi Lovato reportedly headed into studio right after exiting a treatment centre, a smart move on her end. She had months of experiences to write and sing about. How well would they translate to song, though? Well, based on “Skyscraper,” the first offering from her upcoming third album, they translated fantastically. Co-written by Estonian “bubblegoth” singer, Kerli, and producer, Toby Gad (Selena Gomez “A Year Without Rain”, Fergie “Big Girls Don’t Cry”), “Skyscraper” seems like it was tailor made for Demi. With heartbreaking, yet optimistic lyrics placed over minimal yet emotionally effective production, the song seemed like the perfect opportunity for Lovato to emote, and emote, she certainly does.
Skies are crying, I am watching,” she whispers in the first verse. “Catching teardrops in my hands.” Strangely befitting, she sounds vulnerable, almost broken, over a bare, piano-only backdrop. As the second verse resounds (“As the smoke clears, I awaken,”) she’s already regained most of her confidence and composure as the beat picks up, yet there’s still a hint of fragility in her voice, which diminishes as the song goes on. Until we reach the finale, that is; the final chorus.
The chorus in “Skyscraper” is arguably the best thing about the song. The creme de la creme, if you will. Heartbreaking yet optimistic, catchy yet powerful in substance, it stays with you for all the right reasons
You can take everything I have, you can break everything I am, like I’m made of glass, like I’m made of paper,” she dares us. “Go on and try to bring me down, I will be rising from the ground,” she then proclaims. “Like a skyscraper, like a skyscraper.”
The final rendition, however, is all the more mesmerizing. Openly weeping by the end of the song, it gives Lovato the edge to transform from Disney princess into fully-fledged, true musician. “Skyscraper” is a triumph for Demi Lovato in every sense; a triumphant return to the music industry, a triumphant return to prominence, and, above all, a triumphant emergence from the ashes.
Demi Lovato released the art work for her new single, “Skyscraper,” over the weekend. It marks the beginning of Demi’s musical comeback after she was released from treatment earlier this year. She’s already got a music video in the bag (she tweeted that news recently) and the beachy cover art for the song, to us at least, signifies a more adult step in Demi’s career.
A rep for the singer said more information regarding the track will be coming down the pipeline later this week, but Demi has already given hints as to what the song might sound like. While she looks like she might be leaning toward the adult contemporary country sounds of Shania Twain, Demi certainly isn’t ready for that step in her life. At least that’s what we’re inferring from an interview the singer gave us last year.
Demi’s big voice could be nearly perfect for any style of music, but last summer the singer told MTV News she wanted to try more urban music for her next album, which she had already started at the time. “I’m now just taking that next step and learning how to make my music more radio-friendly but also stay very artistic, and for me that’s R&B,” she said. “I can put my vocal stylings on songs that are R&B and it showcases my vocals more than just singing really loud on a rock song.”
She even had some dream collabos in mind, tossing around Trey “I Invented Sex” Songz and Drake as names she’d like to make appearances on the album. It’s really just a matter of time before her fans actually know what’s in store, but the fact that many former Disney stars to try their hand at pop’n'b (we’re looking at you, Joe Jonas), makes us think it might be the perfect step for her to branch out.

After tough times, concerning her rehab entry for eating, self-cutting and bipolar disorders, Demi Lovato is ready to come back to her fans and to what she really likes doing, music – The pop singer will be releasing her third studio album this year, and the first single from that project has recently been revealed. It’s the Toby Gad-written and produced “Skyscraper”. The song will be officially released on July 14th, via Amazon. As of now, we only know the single lasts 3:42 minutes. I really hope it’s something uplifting and uptempo. Amazon also released the official artwork which you can check out above. It’s powerful!

Music has always been a huge part of my life and has helped me some tough times. Certain songs always give me confidence, put me in a good mood, and inspire me. Here’s a list of some of my favorites—the music that helps keep me feeling positive and reminds me to stay strong:

While Demi Lovato was in rehab, Timbaland revealed that he would like to work with the young star, but now it seems it is actually coming true.
The two started talking about working together over Twitter, states The Boom Box. Timbaland started it out: “@ddlovato im goin to holla at john to figure it out.”
And it seems the feeling of working together is mutual: “@Timbaland007 for real though… Are you ready?! Idk about you but I believe magic is gonna come out of this collab.”
The conversation continued with both stars saying they are ready to finally work together.
Are you excited for this collaboration?

Memo to Chris Brown: See? This is how you get back to work.
Just two weeks after posting a video message to fans thanking them for their support and relaying how excited she was to get back to the daily grind, Demi Lovato has done just that.
VIDEO: Demi explains her fan-inspired tattoo!
“First day back to working,” she tweeted this morning. “I can’t wait to share with you guys what I’m doing today.”
Well, maybe she can wait a little bit longer.
Neither Demi nor her reps will comment on today’s gig, or the requisite speculation that she is returning to work on her Disney hit Sonny With a Chance. But luckily for the curious among us, Disney’s reps aren’t so shy.
Despite speculation (fueled by a timely trip to Disneyland earlier this week), reps for the Mouse House say Lovato hasn’t yet returned to her series.
“Demi’s management will inform us when she is ready to return to work,” a rep for the channel told E! News. “As you know, last November, we announced that we would focus on our So Random sketch comedy show (the show within Sonny With a Chance) to keep the staff, cast and crew employed. We began production in January and will debut those episodes this spring.”
So no, she is not back to work on the series.
Which means that Lovato, who has been keeping a low profile since leaving rehab in January, is moving on to bigger and better (and possibly more mature) things, having teased as much in her last video, telling fans, “I can’t wait to tell you guys what the future holds.”
Whether that has anything to do with persistent rumors of a duet with Timbaland (he penned a song just for her earlier this year) will also have to remain to be seen.
She continued to play it coy this morning, but whatever it is she’s doing, it’s big enough to warrant no less than four exclamation marks (so, obviously, pretty massive).
“It’s a big day for me,” she tweeted. “So excited! I love you all!!!”
Back at ya, Demi. Though we’d love you even more if you told us what you were up to.
